This work is a collage created from drawings by Adrien Fregosi combined with my own, following a request from Robert, a mutual friend. Fregosi, a painter born in Grenoble in 1980, developed a spontaneous and intense practice addressing life, its beauty, its difficulties, and the sometimes contradictory emotions that shape it.
I met him in 2015 in Sète, with his partner Marine Lang and their daughter Alma. He already knew he was terminally ill and shared this shortly after we met. It marked the beginning of a strong and lasting friendship. He passed away in March 2024.
This deliberately simple and rudimentary collage uses a color palette chosen in reference to one of his passions: Lidl supermarkets. The work functions both as a tribute and as a continuation through a shared visual language.
