BIOGRAPHY
Paul Loubet is a multidisciplinary artist working in painting, sculpture, installation, publishing, and sound. His work evolved from large dystopian canvases inspired by pop culture and urban landscapes to a minimal approach focused on primitive video games, digital cartography, and vintage electronic artifacts. Loubet’s raw, low-tech aesthetic explores how systems, particularly from video games, shape our understanding of power, history, and conflict.
His work has been shown at institutions including CRAC Occitanie, Musée International des Arts Modestes, Musée Royal de Mariemont, and MIMA Museum. He has received awards such as the 2017 ADAGP Palais de Tokyo Revelation Art Urbain Prize and the 2021 Villa Médicis Occitanie Prize, and is held in collections across Argentina, Brazil, Belgium, France, Spain, and Switzerland.
